Con-tatto is a nude art, performance photography workshop, built with the purpose to create an emotional story.
The workshop focuses on the creation of conditions stimulating a set of emotions, flowing from the muse to the observers through the narrators, namely the photographers.
We will not focus on poses or technical aspects, but on the flow itself, and on the story. Interactions with our muse will be relevant.
The concept
What happens if we give up for a moment — with our mind, with our eyes, with our heart — sight as our primary sense? What will our interaction with the world be like?
Contatto is an Italian word made of two parts: con means with, while tatto is a word specific for the sense of touch. It indicates physical contact, connection.
In this photography workshop we will explore the experience of the world through senses other than sight, mainly through touch.
The player
The player of this experience is Lexotan, aka Alessia, a highly skilled Italian model, dancer and actress. You can visit her Instagram profile to see the her previous works.
Alessia will experience different kinds of interactions with the surrounding environments, that is composed of rough surfaces, minimal objects and free wandering in the vastness, experiencing the world through her skin, her fingers, her soles and her primary emotions.
The location
The location is the Larnaca Salt Lake (west side: expect short dirty roads and some walking).
The emptiness will favour breeze and sounds, the strange surface will stimulate touch and floor action, the vastness allows our muse to walk around.
The workshop will be held around sunset, with natural light.
The story
Alessia will start her action blindfolded, sitting on a chair. She will try to read a book.
The experience of touching the salt surface with her bare feet will capture her emotions soon, and she will start a slow action leaving the book, looking for the absurd ground, knocking over the chair, enjoying the touch and finally wandering around.
This is just an outline. Her feelings and our interactions will drive the story flow. Here is where communication with our skilled muse becomes relevant.
For the sake of photography – and because of her beauty – her face can be uncovered at the end of the action. It makes sense: her con-tatto is established.
When and where exactly (and what we should have care of)
The workshop will be on Sunday, 29th of September, starting at 5.

In this way we have time to reach the spot and develop our story, with time enough for the single photographers to directly approach the model and take photos in different turns.
The exact spot could be fluid. Since it’s a public space, we should consider the eventuality to find people doing yoga, another photo shooting, something else.
In case of many participants, the meeting time could be moved up.
